Documentary

Susan Williams (they/them) is passionate about theatre - they live it and breathe it, as a performance artist and writer. When Susan was diagnosed with a complex array of medical conditions - including the rare form of blindness, Visual Snow Syndrome - they were worried they wouldn't be able to continue to perform. Their form of blindness means that light can make them ill. But Susan has found ways to adapt their performance style to work around this. Armed with a collection of characterful sock puppets, Susan is looking to tackle ableism, homophobia, fatphobia, laundry and so much more in their new show - Illegally Blind - a solo piece that puts accessibility front and centre.
